10th Anniversary update

It's coming up to the 10th anniversary of this blog, set up entirely for the purpose of keeping the flame of Mark Lamarr's radio shows alive, most particularly God's Jukebox, but also his Reggae, Shake, Rattle & Roll and Alternative Sixties shows, and other assorted BBC broadcasts.

When we began, Mark was generous and supportive, sending contributions over to be posted and providing song lists and other data for inclusion.

We went to the trouble of creating our own playlists, through either Mixcloud or Spotify and provided links to a variety of resources to send the reader off in search of a tune or two.

And as a result of these efforts, readers were kind enough to send in their home recordings of Mark's shows, which we began archiving on Mixcloud a few years ago.  The archiving project has taken over from our efforts with this blog.  Although largely dormant now, the posts remain for the new reader and we will most likely return again in the future.

For now, we greatly encourage anyone landing on this page to head over to our Mixcloud archive, where there are hundreds of Mark's fantastic shows.  The guy worked his arse off to put them together and if you haven't heard them before, you should now.  And if you have, you know they stand up well to repetition.

Mark has been happily retired from broadcasting for these past 10 years, but can be found over on twitter, where he posts links to great tunes on YouTube.

Oh, and if you are reading this and think you may have recordings of any of Mark's shows, please get in touch using the email link further down this page.  We have amassed more than 500 shows, but there are half as many again to track down.
