Featured Artist - Pat Kelly (Part One)

Born in Kingston, Jamaica in 1949, Pat Kelly took over vocal duties with The Techniques in 1967 after Slim Smith left, recording glorious rocksteady tunes for Duke Reid's Treasure Isle label.  A solo career followed a year later and Pat's beautiful falsetto singing attracted the attention of Apple Records, who offered the singer a contract he was unable to accept due to existing commitments.

Anyone coming to rocksteady from scratch could do much worse than starting with Pat Kelly.  This post (and others to follow) brings you some of his best work.
