Featured Artist - George Jones (Part One)

George Jones turns 80 later this month, which given his lifestyle for many of those 80 years is some achievement. The quality of his vocals since he began making records almost 60 years ago has always been remarkable.

This post starts off the story with four tunes from his early sessions on Starday Records (1954-1956).

"That Honky Tonk music is the white man's blues is no better illustrated than in the person of George Jones." Robert K. Oermann, 1983
